My Lesson Plan End Result
My lesson plans are over the causes and outcomes of the Civil War. My lessons are directed toward 7th grade middle school students. The end result will be that students will know more important information than Leaders and Battles. I want my students to know the era. Why a war had even began and how it shaped the United States.

I have my bachelor's degree in history. I loved history in school but would be come so frustrated with teachers who only wanted to look at dates and names. The events taking places were so much more important. Once you can make the events real to the students then the dates and names can start falling into place.

Rebekah you have a very valid point with teachers only wanting students to know names and dates within history! I feel that the way Scott has made out his first lesson plan his students would get more information out of the history! The fact that you mentioned the outcome the war had on the United States shows that its something your passionate about and want your students to understand. :)
